Leadership & Multiculturalism

This is our last critical conversation! It will be different this week, intentionally designed this way to help you think about what your own critical multicultural leadership philosophy might look. This week, we are focusing on mapping out our critical multicultural leadership competencies.

Part 1:

How did this week’s learning content (assigned reading: Chapter 7 in course textbook- See Week 12 module in Content area) challenge or affirm your thinking? What did you agree or disagree with and explain why? Did you learn anything new? Is there anything you are curious about? Provide evidence to support your points. We all read the assigned reading, so do not repeat it for us. Give us a fresh take by including your critical analysis and perspective. Your response must be detailed and show deep, reflective, and critical thinking. Surface comments and descriptions will not suffice. I encourage you to use current events, lived experiences, and artifacts (videos, images, etc.) to support your response. Use APA in-text citations to show where your information is coming from. It must be clear that you read/watched and understood the material and can use it to support your perspectives.

Part 2:

Review the document in the Week 12 module titled Critical Multicultural Leadership Competencies. You can also click here to access it. The purpose of this prompt is to think about the knowledge, skills, and awareness you will need to develop your critical multicultural leadership practice. Pick three (3) competencies from each domain (9 total) and a) explain why you picked your chosen competencies, b) how have you or will you develop these competencies? (give specific examples of efforts you have made or will make), and c) how will these competencies impact how you think about and practice leadership? List your chosen competencies then address parts a, b, and c.
