What were the liberal and conservative views on the power of art in society? How did they, respectively, think that art should be regulated? How did art and censorship become central to politics in the 1980s and 1990s? What were some of the big controversies and legal cases pertaining to music, movies, television, and the arts mentioned throughout this chapter? From your own experiences and having read this chapter, how do you feel about the power of art and about censorship?
