response paper
This week, you’re reading a text by a person who you are actually going to meet, and will have the opportunity to ask questions to. Use your reading response this week as a chance to prepare for a conversation with Ashley Dimmig, the author of this article. Here are some ideas for how to approach your 300-word response this week:
1 – It’s probably a good idea to summarize her main argument so you can wrap your head around it. Consider using your first 100 words to do that.
2 – What impression of the author do you get from this piece of writing? What does she care about — methodologically, in her choice of subject to focus on, in her choice of methods of analysis? Use your second paragraph to bring up some of your own thoughts about the author.
3 – In your third and final paragraph, brainstorm some questions to ask the author.
