Please only respond to each section the following question: discussing which type of publication you would rather read and why…
1a. Evaluation of Los Angeles County’s Mental Health Community Engagement Compaign
Evaluating Los Angeles County’s Mental Health Community Engagement Campaign
The benefits of the first article Evaluation of Los Angeles County’s Mental Health Communicty Engagement Campaign is that it provides a brief overview of the research the two research questions posed, 1. Who was reached by the campaign? 2. What impact did contact with the campaign have?. An overall, brief summary and bullet points to highlight the key findings in which the community enegagement campaign reached. A benefit that the second article Evaluating Los Angeles County’s Mental Health Community Engagement Campaign is a more in-depth research in which the same research questions are answered but with far more detailed answers and specifics.
A disadvantage of the first article is that it doesnt provide a detailed picture of the research results. The brief overview of the results in the first article provide a larger view of the research and not necessarily the specifics and the people that the research study involved. The disadvantage of the second article could be that it is too involved and the reader might just want a summary of the results versus the detailed explanation that the article provides.
The publication could really be best for a public audience. An audience that is invested in the betterment of Los Angeles County. An audience that is interested in mental health awareness of healthcare related programs for the adolescents of LA.
Getting the Word Out: New Approaches for Disseminating Public Health Science is a great article that points out the importance of the different type of disseminations and how it could affect the readers emotions. It is most certainly true to myself. As I read the first article it was more of a brief summary of the research that occurred, but with the second article that I had read it really went into detail about the lack of mental health awareness that Los Angeles county adolescence had identified and the lack of programs that were available within the county. The second article had also triggered a positive emotional awareness as a reader, that adolescent are empowering themselves to face mental health issues head-on.

Which is article is short but informative that keep the reader from being overwhelm with information they might not understand. The disadvantages from the short publication give not enough information of who was a targeted audience, what the campaign goals were and how the goal were accomplish. The audiences that the short publication would be best for is the young 14-24 which is their targeted age range
The benefits for the longer publication on Evaluating Los Angeles County’s mental health community engagement campaign is for readers that want to know what the goals, achievement, accomplishments are for the movement. In additions, to how the study was conducted and what methods they use to obtain the data from the We Rise event. The longer publication give the details of the study, methods used, comparison and future suggestion for the why we rise movement. The disadvantages of the longer publication is that it is it can be confusing for the audiences that are young and not yet educated on the methods used. The audiences that the long publication would be best for is companies, donors and sponsors that might be interested in working with the Why We Rise movement.

Both articles had the same goal, the targeted audience, and the networking used to promote the message regarding mental health.
1. What are the benefits of each publication?
The benefits of each publication is to reach out to young adults are that are experiencing mental health issues in the Los Angeles County. With the launch of this campaign, the organizer wanted to promote support, ample information, and understanding of challenges that a person may encounter in their lives. It also helped people open up about mental health issues.
2. What are the disadvantages of each publication?
Each publication disadvantages are that people’s issues won’t be resolved if not exposed to mental health information. There was no negative impact I found when reading the article. The message set forth was received positively by the targeted individuals. People were very perceptive towards the campaign and are willing to share what they have learned with others.
3. What audience would each publication be best?
The publication is geared toward young adults between the age of 14-24. But its open to all who are seeking assistance. With this campaign, about 1 out of 5 young people will have a positive impact because they were exposed. The campaign was successful for racial and ethnic minorities, mostly black and Latino teens (Collins, et al., 2018). The campaign also utilized social media such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, art galleries, rallies, panels, and workshops.
