Due date: Monday, November 16.  Submit any time between 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (or earlier)

Note:  There should not be duplication of topic in the class, so the sooner you can let us know which topic you would like to research, the better chance no one else will have already claimed it.  You may go off-list, but if you do, you need to get our approval of your topic.

Some tips for structuring your paper

If you selected an issue as your topic, consider these questions (but dont necessarily limit yourself to them):

Provide background on your issue.  What made/makes your issue an issue?
What is controversial about your issue?  If applicable, what are some of the pro/con arguments surrounding your issue.  What do you think?  If applicable, do you see a solution to a problem?
What has been/could be the impact on society of your issue?

If you selected a person as your topic, consider these questions (but dont necessarily limit yourself to them):

This should not be just a biography of the individual.  Yes, give background on your person (what made them the adult they became?), but also
What is their contribution to science and technology?
Why was/is their contribution significant?
Why did you select the person?  What interested you about them initially, and what did you learn about them that increased your interest?
