Charles Duhigg: The power of habit, London, 2013
Summarize and critically evaluate the book.

1. Depth and logic of text analysis (40%). The essay should be concise and precise, display
that the content is clearly understood and have a good flow (sentence to sentence /
paragraph to paragraph / chapter to chapter).
2. Writing style/fluency (20%). A summary is largely written in your own words with an
adequate amount of references and quotes to enrich the text. A bullet point list is not a
summary! The content should be described accurately and objectively.
3. Critical evaluation (20%). When critically evaluating the book ensure to not just voice
your opinion but to make clear (1) what are your own thoughts vs the summary, (b) why
do you arrive at a certain evaluation.
4. Structure (20%). Make sure to properly structure your overall text giving adequate space
to the different aspects covered in the book. You do not necessarily need to follow the
structure of the book, although this is one option. A good summary can be written along
other lines, e.g. along core themes.
