For this paper, our final paper, you will construct an argument about the future of self-driving cars. This argument requires you to synthesize all of the viewpoints and information you’ve gathered on autonomous vehicles, and settle on a single issue that, to you, is the most critical one. Once you have made your choice (and I’ll emphasize that you must make a choice to argue for one issue above all others), you can craft a thesis statement using this template:

Today, the question is not whether we should or should not have self-driving cars–they’re almost here and will soon be on the roads in great numbers. So the real issue is _____________________________________.

Once you have your thesis, you can continue research and move on to an outline, and once you have a good rough outline, draft the text of the paper.
