nce you have selected a passage from the readings,  apply the SAY, MEAN, MATTER method for your select passage:

SAY: Quote the passage, word for word, and state who said the quote. Practice setting up a quote using MLA format.
MEAN: In your own words, tell us what the passage means.
MATTER: This is where you tell us the importance of the passage. What is the comment the author is making? What evidence can you find in the reading that supports your interpretation. Relate the quote to something you might have read beyond the text, or a personal experience, or world events.
