Analysis essay
Create a specific, narrow thesis. This should be your statement of interpretation and may be unknown until you have analyzed thoroughly and discovered what you have to say about the piece.
2.Plan to begin paragraphs with a specific topic sentence that says something significant about the piece. Develop paragraphs by offering specific detail and observations that support topic sentences. For example, body paragraphs should analyze a particular scene from a movie or story, or take a close look at particular part of the larger work.
3.Be sure to consistently use transitions as you move your readers through your ideas, and conclude with a paragraph that leaves readers satisfied by offering a final statement about the piece.
4.Include a Work Cited page, and if possible include a printout of the source you are analyzing so I may consult it while grading if I wish.
