Unit Analysis
This is a blended learning course where you will have the opportunity to view films and critically consider their role in knowledge production vis–vis our traditional academic texts. I encourage you to review articles and your notes from the unit before watching the unit film. Take notes on the film and the connections you draw between it and other course texts. Afterward, you will write a unit analysis that demonstrates the relationship between the films argument and the texts from the unit. How you craft your argument is open, but the point of a unit analysis paper is to
demonstrate that you have understood the texts, understood the film, and can successfully apply unit texts to the film argument to develop an analysis of the units theme(s). You should cite a minimum of two texts from the unit the film belongs to but are encouraged to cite more texts in the current and past units to build a strong analysis
