Reflect: Helping a Doubting Christian

Imagine that a fellow believer meets with you over lunch and shares with you that they have been doubting their salvation for several months. This Christian has a clear testimony of faith in Christ and has seen a steady transformation in their life. They cannot identify a particular unrepentant sin in their life that they are harboring. However, they do not feel saved because of struggling with ongoing temptations and trials.

You remember the promise of 1 John 5:13. How might you seek to encourage them specifically from 1 John? What passages would you share, and why?
