Diversity in Academic and Professional Work spaces
I need an excellent paper about diversity in faculty in a selected discipline. My discipline is in Sociology. And here is what being asked for verbatim:
“Our discussions in this unit have focused on the topic of diversity in academia and professional workspaces from a number of perspectives: faculty, student, publication/research, and in the real world after you matriculate. For this assignment, write a research paper that explores the relevance of diversity in your academic discipline or your future career goal. The purpose is to identify the current conversation according to your research, its strengths, its limitations, ways that the institution can improve on being more inclusive, and why it is important to do so.
Define diversity, identify the specific focus of your project, and explain why this is an important perspective to be aware of
Use 3 scholarly journal articles and 2 credible open access/popular sources published or posted within the last 5 years. For each discuss
o Primary argument(s) from the source
o Relevant citation
o Critical analysis of how these/this argument relates to the focus of your project
Synthesis of the ways these 5 sources speak to one another and provide insight into a conversation about diversity in academic and professional spaces.
Discuss consequences/benefits of being aware of these issues.
Direct your research to a specific audience EITHER
An imagined supervisor/manager/HR person in your professional field OR
A department chair/college dean/diversity committee on campus.
