The beta coefficient is a measure of systemic risk. Use Yahoo! Finance to find the estimated beta coefficients of four publicly traded companies operating in different industries (meaning they do not sell the same goods and services). Answer the following:
- For each of the four companies, indicate the beta coefficient you found.
- Is it greater than one or less than one?
- What does the estimated beta suggest about the return of the stock in comparison with the return of the stock market as a whole?
- Why do you believe the stock moves more than the market or less than the market as a whole?
