This term paper is to be a detailed examination of an aspect of childrens relationship to their environment.  Ideally, the paper indicates the current state of matters on your chosen topic.  As such, recent sources of information (within the last 5 years) are preferable to older documents.  The paper should follow the general format of research papers, including an introduction, body, and conclusion.

You may choose a topic from the following list:
Early childhood education about the natural environment
Economic disparities and childrens access to the outdoors
The changing nature of outdoor organizations that work with children
The position or status of children in environmental politics
The impact of technologies on the environment of children
Commodities and the changing nature of childhood
Childrens ability to structure their household environment
Children in war regions
Challenges encountered by migrant or refugee children
Globalization and childhood
Another topic (must be approved by instructor)

Paper Length and Structure
The research paper should be 6-7 pages in length, double-spaced.  You are required to cite at least 5 scholarly references.  The 5 required references must not include class readings.  The references do not count as part of your page count and should be listed at the end of your paper in MLA (Chicago) format.  Parenthetical references (only) should be included within the body of the text.
